سوف تتناول الدراسة رؤية تاريخية أرشيفية لتطور تاريخ متحف الفن الإسلامي بالقاهرة منذ نشأته في عام 1869.
وترجع فكره إنشاء متحف الأثار الإسلامية إلي المهندس (سالزمان) الذي اقترح علي الخديوي إسماعيل باشا ( ) في سنة 1869م من تحقيق هذه الأمنية. فكلف مدير القسم الفني في وزارة الأوقاف (فرانتر باشا ) بأن يخصص بناء حكومياً للتحف المجموعة من المساجد والبيوت الأثرية، ولكن هذا المشروع لم ينفذ إلا بعد هذا التاريخ باثني عشر عاماً إذ عهد الخديوي توفيق
Abstract: The study will address a historical archival vision of the development of the history of the Museum of Islamic Art in Cairo since its establishment in 1869. The idea of establishing the Museum of Islamic Antiquities goes back to the engineer (Salzmann), who suggested to Khedive Ismail Pasha ( ) in 1869 AD to fulfill this wish. He commissioned the Director of the Technical Department in the Ministry of Endowments (Franter Pasha) to allocate a government building for the artifacts collected from mosques and historic houses, but this project was not implemented until twelve years after this date, when( Khedive Tewfik) took over. In order to achieve its scientific goals of spreading knowledge, culture and artistic taste in the manner that museums in Europe and America do. The Committee for the Preservation of Arab Antiquities affiliated with the Ministry of Endowments continued to supervise the House of (Arab Antiquities ).
